Deadly Russian Missile Attack on Ukrainian Training Camp Claims Lives of Six Soldiers

A missile strike by Russia on a Ukrainian military training range resulted in the deaths of six servicemen and injuries to at least ten others during their training session on Tuesday, as reported by Ukraine’s National Guard on Wednesday. They also mentioned that the commander of the affected unit has been temporarily relieved of duty.

On the same day, Russia’s Ministry of Defense asserted that the missile attack on the training facility located in the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine led to the deaths of up to 70 Ukrainian troops, including 20 instructors.

The statement from the Ukrainian National Guard revealed that an internal inquiry is currently in progress, with information being provided to law enforcement agencies.

“The investigation aims to deliver a legal assessment of the actions taken by all individuals involved in making the decisions,» it noted.

Following prior lethal attacks on military training sites, Ukraine has initiated investigations into potential negligence.
