Deadly Drone Strikes in Dnipro and Kharkiv: Casualties and Destruction Reported

Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian cities Dnipro and Kharkiv during the night resulted in at least one death and many injuries, as reported by regional officials on Wednesday.

“The enemy conducted a significant drone assault using Shahed drones on the city,” stated Serhiy Lysak, Governor of Dnipropetrovsk region. “A 53-year-old man lost his life, and I extend my sympathies to his family and loved ones.”

“The most severe devastation occurred in residential areas. Fires ignited in parts of the regional center, but firefighters have since managed to control them,” Lysak noted.

The governor mentioned that one house was completely destroyed while several others suffered significant damage. “A local business was also affected, along with a funeral service office and a passenger vehicle,” Lysak added.

In Kharkiv, 45 individuals sustained injuries, including two children, as reported by regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. Earlier, Kharkiv’s Mayor Ihor Terekhov noted that there had been 16 strikes on the city with a reported 39 injured.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that it successfully intercepted 50 Russian drones nationwide during the night. In total, Russia launched 108 drones targeting Ukraine overnight, according to the air force.

Additionally, in Russia, three individuals were injured as a result of a drone strike near the town of Rylsk in the Kursk region, reported Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein. He mentioned that two of those injured were taken to the hospital.
