CME запускает круглосуточную торговлю криптовалютными опционами и фьючерсами Translation: CME Launches 24/7 Trading for Cryptocurrency Options and Futures

At the beginning of 2026, the CME will launch around-the-clock trading for cryptocurrency options and futures.

«While not all markets are suited for continuous operation, the demand from clients for 24/7 cryptocurrency trading has increased, as market participants need to manage their risks every day of the week,» said CME Group leader Tim McCourt.

He believes that ensuring round-the-clock availability for digital asset markets will allow clients to «trade confidently at any time.»

The CME Globex platform will facilitate this 24/7 trading, with a technical break of no more than two hours during the weekends.

According to a press release, interest in crypto products on the exchange has significantly grown over the past year.

The announcement of «continuous trading» followed comments from CME Chairman and CEO Terry Duffy during a joint roundtable with the CFTC and SEC on October 1, where he stated that the financial sector is entering a «24/7 era.»

«I believe this is the reality we will live in, and the market will demand it,» Duffy remarked during his discussion with regulatory representatives.

He added that cryptocurrency offers the «best means» to achieve this.

Other exchange leaders at the roundtable expressed similar views. Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeff Sprecher stated that markets must determine which products make sense for continuous trading.

Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman mentioned that the company is preparing to implement round-the-clock services, but acknowledged the presence of operational challenges.

Additionally, it is worth noting that in September, the SEC simplified the listing process for crypto ETFs. Analysts anticipated that new investment products would be launched in the U.S. «in the coming weeks and months.»
