Chanan: CSKAs Season Start is Promising — Glad That Chelestini Upholds Established Foundations

Former CSKA Moscow goalkeeper coach **Vyacheslav Chanov** shared his thoughts on the team’s performance at the beginning of the 2025/2026 season. In the third round of the Russian Premier League, the red-blues are set to face **Zenit**. The match will take place on Sunday, August 3, at Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg.

“It’s important to note that CSKA has had a strong start to the season. The arrival of a new coach is always challenging. I believe Fabio Celestini hasn’t had enough time yet to fully convey his football philosophy, but I’m pleased to see that he isn’t discarding what was previously established. The guys had a solid season last year, and I think this approach is absolutely correct. It’s easy to break things down, but building something new is far more difficult,” Chanov told Championship correspondent Yegor Kabak.

Swiss coach **Fabio Celestini** took charge of CSKA this summer. In his debut match in Russia, he clinched the Super Cup by leading his team to victory over **Krasnodar** (1:0). In the first two rounds of the RPL, the team drew with **Orenburg** (0:0) and secured a win against **Akhmat** (2:1). Additionally, in the first round of the RPL Path of the Russian Cup, CSKA triumphed over **Lokomotiv** (2:1).
