BtcTurk остановила вывод средств после масштабного взлома на сумму $48 млн Translation: BtcTurk halts withdrawals following a massive hack totaling $48 million

One of Turkey’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, BtcTurk, is believed to have fallen victim to a hack amounting to $48 million, according to cybersecurity experts from Cyvers.

Analysts identified suspicious transactions linked to the exchange’s hot wallets. The attacker transferred funds in Ethereum, Avalanche, Arbitrum, and other networks, directing them to two addresses.

Lookonchain experts noted that the cybercriminal began converting the stolen cryptocurrency into Ether.

In response, BtcTurk acted swiftly by halting deposits and withdrawals of digital assets. Trading on the platform and transactions in Turkish lira remain operational.

It’s worth mentioning that BtcTurk had previously been hacked in June 2024, with blockchain researchers estimating the losses at $54 million. Later, Binance CEO Richard Teng reported that $5.3 million of the stolen funds had been frozen and assistance was provided to the Turkish exchange in the investigation.
