Assassins Creed Series Still in Production, Confirms Netflix Gaming Head

Back in 2020, both **Netflix** and **Ubisoft** announced that they were collaborating on a live-action series based on **Assassin’s Creed**. However, there have been no substantial updates regarding the adaptation since then. Is it possible that the project has been quietly cancelled? According to **Netflix’s** head of gaming, **Alain Tascan**, that’s not the case.

He mentioned this in a conversation with **Stephen Totilo** from Game File, adding that the project is currently «in active production.» No further details have been shared about it. It’s worth noting that in 2023, the adaptation lost its showrunner, **Jeb Stuart**, known for his work on the scripts for **Die Hard** and **The Fugitive** (1993).

On another note, the **Assassin’s Creed** mobile game announced in 2022, which was also a collaboration between **Netflix** and **Ubisoft**, seems unlikely to see the light of day. The companies have not released any information regarding this mysterious title.

This isn’t the first time an **Assassin’s Creed** project has failed to materialize. In 2017, fans were excited by news of an anime adaptation of the franchise, but nothing has come of it since.
