Ancelotti Addresses Tax Evasion Charges That Could Land Him in Prison

The head coach of Madrid’s Real Madrid, **[Carlo Ancelotti](https://www.realmadrid.com/en/football/squad/carlo-ancelotti)**, has commented on reports that he will appear in court next week concerning allegations of tax evasion.

«I am required to go [to court] and provide testimony. I will do that on Wednesday. However, this isn’t a topic for discussion. Next week, the prosecution’s appeal will be reviewed. I won the first court case. I have complete faith in the law and justice. I am not worried, but it annoys me when people imply that I cheated,» Ancelotti stated, according to AS.

Previously, media outlets reported that the Italian coach is being accused of unpaid taxes amounting to €1,062,079 for the years 2014 and 2015. The prosecution is seeking a sentence of four years and nine months for Ancelotti.
