Alpines Oliver Oakes Explains Jack Doohans Crash in Japan GP Practice Sessions

The head of «Alpin,» Oliver Ouks, commented on the incident involving team driver Jack Doohan during the second practice session of the Japan Grand Prix. The Australian crashed his car in the first corner, causing the session to be halted with red flags. According to Ouks, Doohan’s accident was a result of leaving the DRS open in that corner.

“We all feel relieved to see that Jack has recovered from the incident during the second practice. We’re glad he’s okay. It was a mistake not to deactivate the DRS in the first corner, and this is a lesson to be learned. I know that Jack and the team will be ready for tomorrow. We’ll do everything we can to fix the car after the damage,” Ouks told RaceFans.
