Google Unveils Virtual Fitting Room with AI-Powered Price Alerts

Google has introduced a new AI feature that allows users to try on clothes virtually, along with price drop notifications.

The official launch of this virtual fitting room comes two months after the start of its testing phase. This feature enables users to upload their photos and try on outfits without needing to visit a store.

Initially, the feature is available in the United States. Users can access it through search results, Google Shopping, and Google Images. To use this functionality, one needs to click on a product or its listing and select the «try on» icon. After that, they must upload a full-body photo.

Once uploaded, users can see how they look in the selected clothing. They also have the option to save their looks and share them with friends.

Previously, Google offered virtual fitting technologies, but those were designed to showcase clothing on various models. With this new feature, the company allows users to try on clothes on a virtual representation of themselves.

Regarding price notifications, users can now specify the amount they are willing to spend on a product, along with their desired size and color. They will then receive alerts for the selected item if the price decreases.

«The Shopping Graph includes products and prices from all over the internet, so we will notify you when there’s a deal that meets your criteria. No more constant checking to see if that handbag you liked has gone on sale or forgetting to revisit a product you were interested in,» wrote Danielle Buckley, Google’s Director of Consumer Shopping, in a blog post.

It’s worth noting that in July, Google launched a new AI function that can autonomously call local businesses to inquire about prices and availability of products or services, and then relay the results back to the user.
