Samsung Collaborates with OpenAI and Perplexity for Enhanced AI Integration in Galaxy S26

Samsung Corporation is currently in talks with AI companies such as OpenAI and Perplexity to incorporate more artificial intelligence services into its upcoming Galaxy smartphones. This information comes from a report by Bloomberg.

The company aims to broaden its range of applications and move beyond Google’s Gemini in the upcoming S26 lineup set to launch next year, as stated by Choi Won-jun, the president and COO of the mobile division.

«We are negotiating with several suppliers. As long as these AI agents remain competitive and can enhance the user experience, we are open to any tools,» he mentioned.

The South Korean tech giant is nearing an investment agreement with the AI search engine Perplexity, which will lead to the integration of its app and assistant.

In addition to AI, the conglomerate is evaluating new chips for the Galaxy S26, considering both Qualcomm products and its own Exynos 2600.

In the recently launched Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung for the first time utilized its self-developed chipset in a foldable device. The company aims to reduce its reliance on Qualcomm while addressing concerns regarding the efficiency and thermal performance of its Exynos line.

Meanwhile, Apple is planning to unveil its own foldable smartphone next year, according to Bloomberg. This device will incorporate many components from the Galaxy Z Fold, including foldable OLED displays.

«This is just the beginning of how these phones will become mainstream,» Choi remarked.

As a reminder, in January, Samsung announced its new flagship Galaxy S25 series featuring a more powerful chip and a focus on artificial intelligence.
