Sergio Perezs Severance Pay Exceeds Initial Reports by €3 Million, Claims Benson

Former Mexican Red Bull driver **[Sergio Perez](https://www.example.com/tags/5371-serkhio-peres/)** received €3 million more in severance pay than previously reported, according to journalist Andrew Benson.

«They signed a new two-year contract with Sergio Perez that was intended to last until the end of 2026, although there were no obvious or compelling reasons for this to happen. By the end of last year, they had paid him €18 million to prevent him from driving for them for two years,» Benson stated on The Checkered Flag podcast.

It was earlier reported that Perez’s severance amounted to €15 million.

For the upcoming season, Perez is expected to potentially join the Cadillac team.
