Kremlin Unfazed by Trumps Tough Talk, Affirms No Disagreement on Ukraine Peace Efforts

The Kremlin expressed on Wednesday that it remains unaffected by U.S. President Donald Trump’s remarks accusing President Vladimir Putin of speaking «a lot of bulls***» regarding peace discussions about Ukraine.

«We are quite untroubled by this. It’s worth noting that Trump generally uses strong language in his comments,» Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov mentioned to reporters when asked about Trump’s statements made the previous day.

Peskov also aimed to position Russia’s stance in line with Trump’s, referencing the American leader’s acknowledgment during a televised cabinet meeting on Tuesday that finding a resolution to the war in Ukraine has been «more challenging» than anticipated.

«We also took note of Trump’s important remark that the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict turned out to be much harder than he originally believed. This aligns with our consistent message that it can’t be resolved in an instant,» Peskov stated.

«There is no divergence here,» he added, indicating that Trump’s peace initiatives are grappling with «the inherent complexities of the issue.»

However, Peskov also mentioned that the Kremlin still looks forward to ongoing discussions with Washington aimed at «repairing the severely damaged bilateral relations» between the two nations, despite Trump’s increasingly critical statements.

When asked about a leaked recording suggesting Trump told donors at a 2024 campaign fundraiser that he cautioned Putin against invading Ukraine or else «I’m going to bomb the sh** out of Moscow,» Peskov deferred to the White House for comments.

«I cannot confirm or dismiss this information, as much as I would like to,» Peskov remarked. «We are uncertain whether it is genuine or not.»

He also pointed out that «there were no phone conversations [between Trump and Putin]» during Trump’s re-election campaign last year.

The Trump campaign has opted not to comment on the reported recordings, according to CNN.
