Film The Prophet: The Story of Alexander Pushkin Hits 800 Million Rubles at the Box Office

On February 24, the box office earnings for the film «Prophet: The Story of Alexander Pushkin» surpassed 800 million rubles. This milestone was achieved on the 11th day of its release, following the premiere on February 13. The film, featuring Yura Borisov, continues to firmly dominate the Russian box office charts and is approaching the billion ruble mark.

«Prophet» tells the grand story of the renowned poet’s life, covering his years at the Lyceum up until the fateful duel, capturing his essence and aiming to portray Pushkin in a way that no one has seen him before. In the film, the poet is depicted as a «contemporary and multifaceted hero, battling between darkness and terror, and light and enlightenment.»

The lead role is played by Oscar nominee Yura Borisov («Anora»), while Kai Getz («Thunder: A Difficult Childhood») portrays young Pushkin during his Lyceum years. The character of Georges Dantès is brought to life by French actor Florian Desbusiness. The film is directed by Felix Umarov («Home Field»).
