Russian Skiers Hold Hope for Olympic Participation Amid Uncertain Future

The President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), **[Elena Vyalbe](http://example.com)**, is optimistic about the Russian ski team’s chances of competing in the upcoming 2026 Olympics, scheduled to take place in Italy from February 6 to 22.

«The decision regarding our participation in the Olympics will be made by the IOC. We have seen that during the summer events, they allowed our athletes to compete, so I believe there is still a chance for the Olympics. It is unlikely that the IOC would invite one sport to the Games while excluding another; that would be absurd.

Who holds the most influence over our eligibility? To participate in the World Cup, we need approval from the FIS, and for the Olympic Games, the primary requirement is the IOC’s consent, along with the FIS as well. If the international federation does not permit us, then we cannot take part in the Olympics.

Are we in talks with FIS? Good results thrive in silence,» Vyalbe stated, as reported by Sport24.
