Mostovoy on Chelistinis Potential Role at CSKA: A Positive Sign of Football Expertise

Former footballer of the USSR and Russian national teams, **[Alexander Mostovoy](https://www.championat.com/tags/1773-aleksandr-mostovoj/)**, shared his thoughts on the potential appointment of **Fabio Celestini** as the head coach of CSKA Moscow.

«Let’s see what Celestini has to offer. It’s encouraging that he comes from a football background. However, we’ll reserve judgment until the fall, as results will determine his performance. He is indeed a controversial choice. If you ask ten people about him now, nine might say they are not familiar with Celestini. Ultimately, results will be our basis for evaluation. We’ve had our share of individuals in football who were not from the sport,» said Mostovoy in an interview with **Championat** correspondent Yegor Kabak.

Previously, Marco Nikolic vacated the head coach position for the army team to take over at the Greek club AEK. Under Nikolic’s leadership, CSKA finished third in the Russian Premier League for the 2024/2025 season and secured the Fonbet Cup of Russia.
