Setting My Sights on the Top 10: Svitolina Reflects on Roland Garros Exit

The 14th-ranked Ukrainian tennis player, **Elina Svitolina**, provided her insights following her defeat in the quarterfinals of the 2025 French Open against the fifth-ranked **Iga Swiatek** (1-6, 5-7).

«There were many positives, not just from this match, but throughout the tournament as a whole. I had a strong clay season and played well against various types of opponents. I secured victories in many matches. Of course, Iga is a formidable challenge, regardless of the surface. To compete against her, one must deliver their best tennis, especially here on this court where she has won so many matches and lifted numerous trophies, which boosts her confidence.

It’s essential to play from the first point to the last and showcase your finest tennis to triumph over her. However, as I mentioned earlier, I’m pleased with how I am challenging the top players. This is what I aim for during practice—finding ways to beat them. My goal is to make a return to the top 10, and I’m committed to achieving that. I am working extremely hard,» Svitolina stated at the press conference.
