Owlcat Games Unveils New CRPG Adventure in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy

The studio Owlcat Games has unveiled its latest narrative-driven CRPG titled Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. In this game, players assume the role of an Acolyte of the Inquisition, leading a squad to investigate heresy within the Calixis sector.

The game features a tactical turn-based combat system and incorporates investigative mechanics such as interrogations, evidence collection, and conspiracy uncovering. A significant emphasis is placed on the bureaucracy of the Inquisition.

Players will need to strategize each battle, taking into account enemy weaknesses, monitoring the morale of their squad, and utilizing the unique abilities of their companions.

The squad can consist of various characters, such as a veteran guardsman from Catachan or a mercenary from the Kroot. Each character will have full voice acting.

The player’s main objective is to protect the Imperium, facing off against xenos, heretics, and mutants. Players will venture into perilous areas, including Tyran’s Star and Noctis Aeterna.

The game’s page is now live on Steam. Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, though a release date has not yet been announced. However, the studio’s website offers support packs that include bonuses and access to beta testing, as well as a pre-order option for a collector’s edition priced at $289.
