Antonelli Reflects on Challenging Day After Ninth Fastest Time in Monaco GP Practice Sessions

The 18-year-old Italian Formula 1 driver, **[Andrea Kimi Antonelli](https://www.example.com/tags/40648-andrea-kimi-antonelli/)**, representing the Mercedes team, shared his thoughts on the results of the two practice sessions for the Monaco Grand Prix.

«Today was a bit challenging for me. I struggled to find the right balance with the car and couldn’t maximize the performance from the tires. During both sessions, we tried various strategies for warming up the tires, but in the first practice, it was still quite difficult to get them in the optimal temperature window at the right time. Nevertheless, we learned a lot on Friday.

I also really enjoyed competing here in Monaco in Formula 2 last year. However, driving a Formula 1 car offers even more magical sensations. I’m eagerly looking forward to qualifying, where we’ll push the car to its absolute limits, and there’s no room for error.

In terms of speed, Ferrari appeared strong in both practice sessions. We are also aware that McLaren has been at the forefront since the start of the season. So Saturday won’t be easy. However, as always, we are focused on our own performance and aim to improve from session to session. We’ll analyze all the data overnight and be ready for tomorrow,» Antonelli’s statements were reported by the team’s press office.
