SteamOS 3.7.8 Released: Official Support Now Added for Lenovo Legion Go S

The company Valve has officially released a stable version of SteamOS 3.7.8, enhancing the functionality of Steam Deck and broadening support for third-party portable gaming devices based on AMD chips.

This update includes several enhancements for the Linux platform, featuring a new Arch Linux base and an upgrade to the Linux kernel 6.11. These improvements contribute to better device compatibility, leading to an increase in the number of supported portable PCs using AMD processors.

In the update notes, Valve cautions that SteamOS may not be compatible with all devices. However, they specifically mention the ROG Ally and the original Lenovo Legion Go as two portable systems that are compatible with the 3.7.8 update.

A significant milestone is the official certification of the Lenovo Legion Go S for use with SteamOS, making it the first device, apart from the Steam Deck, to receive this endorsement.

Additionally, the SteamOS 3.7.8 update from Valve states that the Lenovo Legion Go S will be available for purchase starting May 25.
