CD Projekt to Expand Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Team Significantly by Year-End, Says CFO in Exclusive Interview

**Piotr Nielubowicz**, the Chief Financial Officer of **CD Projekt**, recently shared insights about current projects and future plans in an interview.

**CD Projekt** is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the release of **The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt**. A key feature of the celebratory events will be the global tour titled «The Witcher: Music of the Continent,» a symphonic concert dedicated to the game’s music, set to commence in May. In addition to the concerts, **CD Projekt** has prepared «many surprises,» details of which will be revealed later.

Nielubowicz emphasized that the development of **The Witcher IV** is underway utilizing a modified version of Unreal Engine 5, with a team of more than 400 developers working on the project. Although the release date remains unknown, it is expected to be no earlier than 2027. Furthermore, this title will not be included in the financial objectives of the incentive program for 2023-2026.

Another major endeavor mentioned by the studio is **Project Orion**, the sequel to **Cyberpunk 2077**. Currently, over 90 people are working on the game, with plans to expand the team to 160 by the end of the year. The project is approaching readiness to move into the pre-production stage.

Meanwhile, **Project Hadar**, a new original IP from the studio, is gradually taking shape. The team recruitment is in progress, and the project has moved beyond its initial phase, though specific details remain limited.

According to Nielubowicz, the company does not plan any mergers or seek external investors. The CFO of **CD Projekt** underscores their desire to remain an independent player in the market and to manage their own growth without external pressures. Furthermore, the company’s charter includes provisions designed to protect it from hostile takeovers.
