Kiryakov: Dynamo Lacked Pragmatism Under Lichka — Sometimes You Need to Step on Your Own Throat

Russian coach **Sergei Kiryakov** expressed his thoughts on what former head coach of Dynamo Moscow, **Marcel Lichka**, lacked for achieving success with the club.

«On one hand, Lichka’s style of football is indeed adventurous. On the other hand, results are paramount. A certain synergy between attacking, romantic football and a results-oriented approach is necessary. At times, one must suppress their instincts and adopt a more defensive style. This was missing from Lichka’s tenure at Dynamo. A coach who can integrate both offensive and defensive styles is essential to achieve the expected outcomes. There was a lack of pragmatism in Lichka’s approach at Dynamo,» Kiryakov mentioned in an interview with **Vladimir Chetverikov**, a correspondent for «Championat.»

Marcel Lichka was dismissed from his role as head coach of Dynamo Moscow on May 1. He was succeeded by Russian specialist Roland Gusev, who will lead the team until the end of the season.
