Navigating the Tough Choices: Babaev Discusses Bardakovs NHL Transition

Hockey agent Shumi Babaev, who represents forward Zakhar Bardakov, shared insights on how the player decided to join the NHL team Colorado Avalanche.

— How did the four years at SKA go for Zakhar?
— First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to Roman Borisovich [Rotenberg] for fulfilling all of his obligations and promises. This applies to both Zakhar and Arseniy Gritsyuk. He assured us, «You will join SKA, and I will prepare you for the NHL. Don’t rush. You will go there when you are ready.» The entire SKA system has worked exceptionally well. I am very pleased with how the guys have developed. Zakhar is also very thankful to the SKA system and primarily to Roman Borisovich.

Secondly, Zakhar discussed it with his family. It wasn’t an easy decision, as SKA offered us very favorable terms and a solid contract. He gathered his family and they had a conversation. This is probably one of those opportunities that he needed to seize now. Tomorrow might be too late. Hence, he made this choice, — Babaev stated in an exclusive interview with Championship correspondent Yegor Kabak.
