Tether Freezes 870,000 USDT Across Three Suspected Wallets

Tether has frozen 870,000 USDT across three cryptocurrency wallets, as reported by the experts from the MistTrack service.

According to MistTrack, the first address (TGi8…ZDfU) was utilized for transactions with the exchanges WhiteBIT and OKX.

Representatives from WhiteBIT have denied any association with the address TGi8…ZDfU mentioned by MistTrack analysts.

The second address (0xa1…c53f) has been flagged as a source of funds tied to theft, phishing, and schemes like “romantic scams.”

The third address (0xca…73b8) has interacted with wallets involved in transactions on the Gate.io exchange.

Tether consistently freezes funds that are associated with illicit activities. According to Dune Analytics, the company has blocked a total of 2,192 addresses containing USDT, amounting to $1.4 billion.

It’s worth noting that on March 6, Tether froze wallets belonging to the Russian exchange Garantex, totaling over 2.5 billion rubles.
