Coach Nikitin Reflects on Locos Hard-Fought Victory in Omsk

The head coach of Lokomotiv, **Igor Nikitin**, shared his thoughts on the commanding victory in the third match of the series against Avangard (6:2).

— I believe the score doesn’t truly reflect the game. It was a tough match with a lot of physical play, and we’re preparing for what’s next.

**— How satisfied are you with Lokomotiv’s start? It seemed like you weren’t as aggressive, often opting to clear the puck.**
— We were prepared for Avangard’s style of play, and credit must be given to the opposing team. They forced us into those clearances. However, clearing the puck doesn’t mean panicking. We are competing against a strong team.

**— For the first time in the series, Avangard outperformed Lokomotiv in face-offs. What do you think caused this drop?**
— I wouldn’t really call it a drop. The opponent has highly skilled centers, — Nikitin’s remarks were conveyed by Championship correspondent Lev Lukin.
