Gasly Reflects on Bahrain GP: We Gave It Our All to Keep Max Behind Us

The driver of the Alpine team, **[Pierre Gasly](https://www.alpine.com/en/teams/pierre-gasly/)**, shared his thoughts on his performance at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he ultimately finished in seventh place, contributing 6 points to his team’s tally.

“I’m very pleased for the entire team that we secured our first points of the season with a seventh-place finish. It’s a bit disappointing to have lost a position to Max Verstappen on the last lap, but considering he won last week, we can only learn from this experience.

Starting from fourth on the grid was a solid beginning, and we managed to stay in the leading group during the initial segment of the race. We experienced a bit of bad luck with the timing of the safety car after our second stop for hard tires. Overall, the race went smoothly until the very end; we were just trying to keep Max at bay, but we ran out of tires and lost our position.

Now, we will focus on Jeddah, where we hope to be competitive again. The car performed well in the fast corners here, and I was impressed with its handling. I hope we can replicate this in Saudi Arabia next weekend and once again bring the fight to our competitors,” Gasly’s comments were reported by the Alpine press service.
