Furkad Reflects on an Unexpectedly Successful Season: A Historic Achievement for French Biathlon

The coach of the French biathlon team, **Simon Fourcade**, reflected on the 2024/2025 season and the accomplishments of his athletes.

«I never imagined we could have such a successful season. In the past, our outcomes were much more modest. The start was challenging, and the World Championship didn’t quite meet our expectations, but we ultimately finished first in the Nations Cup, ahead of Germany and Sweden. This indicates that there were many positive aspects, and we wrapped up the season exceptionally well with outstanding results,» Fourcade stated to Nordic Magazine.

It’s worth noting that during the 2024/2025 season, three French biathletes—Éric Perrot, Quentin Fillon Maillet, and Emilien Jacquelin—secured spots in the top ten of the overall World Cup standings.
