Former NHL Player Reflects on the Ovechkin-Crosby Rivalry Dynamics

Former NHL player and host of the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast, **Paul Bissonnette**, shared his thoughts on the rivalry between Russian captain of the Washington Capitals, **Alexander Ovechkin**, and Pittsburgh Penguins forward **[Sidney Crosby](https://www.example.com/tags/823-sidni-krosbi/)**.

«I don’t believe there’s any genuine animosity between them like there was in the past. Not in a bad way. It’s mainly because the media and others have pitted them against each other, debating who is the better player, who will win the Stanley Cup, and who will be the top draft pick, and so forth,» Bissonnette commented on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast.

In the current season, the Russian forward has recorded 38 goals and 27 assists in 58 games. Over his NHL career, he has played in 1,484 matches, scoring 891 goals and providing 724 assists.
