Salavat Yulaev Dominates Siberia 7-0 in Playoff Opener

The first match of the 1/8 finals of the 2025 Gagarin Cup in the Eastern Conference of the Continental Hockey League took place at the Ufa Arena, where local team Salavat Yulaev faced off against Novosibirsk’s Sibir. The game ended with a dominant victory for the home team, with a score of 7-0. Thus, Salavat Yulaev leads the series 1-0.

In the first period, at the 17-minute mark, Alexey Vasilyevsky opened the scoring with assists from Nathan Todd and Scott Wilson.

In the second period, at the eight-minute mark, Artyom Gorshkov doubled the lead with help from Vladislav Efremov and Artyom Pimenov. Later, at the 17-minute mark of the same period, Alexander Khmelevskiy, assisted by Josh Livo and Nathan Todd, increased the lead to 3-0. Just before the end of the period, at the 19-minute mark, Sheldon Rempal scored, assisted by Nathan Todd, further extending the margin.

In the third period, at the 13-minute mark, Nathan Todd netted the fifth goal for the hosts. Less than a minute later, Alexander Khmelevskiy made it 6-0. Finally, at the 16-minute mark, Artyom Nabiyev sealed the final score of the match.
