Assassins Creed Shadows Achieves Highest Peak Concurrent Players in Franchise History on Steam

As is often the case, over the weekend following its release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows managed to surpass its peak online record on Steam. In fact, the game attracted enough simultaneous players to become the best title in the entire franchise in this regard.

On the evening of March 23, the SteamDB portal registered a peak online count for Assassin’s Creed Shadows of 64,825 users. Consequently, Shadows has outperformed the previous record holder, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which recorded a peak of 62,069 simultaneous players. Rounding out the top tier is Assassin’s Creed Origins, which saw a significantly lower online count at 41,551 players.

In addition, Assassin’s Creed Shadows boasts the largest launch of 2025 in the UK in terms of physical sales. This was reported by Christopher Dring, former head of the GamesIndustry.biz publication and now a freelancer and analyst, with a reference to GfK Entertainment here.

According to the available information, in the UK, Shadows has outperformed Monster Hunter Wilds and sold more copies in just a week than Star Wars Outlaws did in three months. Nevertheless, the adventure of Naoe and Yasuke still lags behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s performance.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and through Amazon Luna’s cloud service. Russian subtitles are available.
