Metaplanet Acquires 150 BTC Following Eric Trumps Appointment to Strategic Advisory Board

«Japanese Strategy,» a company called Metaplanet, has acquired 150 BTC for a total of $12.6 million.

The purchase price was $83,801 per coin. The company’s total cryptocurrency holdings have now reached 3,350 BTC, valued at $291.3 million.

Just a few days prior, Metaplanet appointed Eric Trump, son of U.S. President Donald Trump, to its Strategic Advisory Board.

Simon Gerovich, the CEO of the company, commented that Trump’s business experience and interest in Bitcoin will assist the firm in enhancing its position as one of the largest corporate holders of the leading cryptocurrency.

Since adopting its Bitcoin strategy in early April 2024, Metaplanet has been actively increasing its cryptocurrency assets. The firm aims to accumulate 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025.

According to BitcoinTreasuries, Metaplanet ranks 10th in terms of corporate Bitcoin reserves and is the largest holder in Asia.
