Hollywoods Race for the Adaptation Rights to Split Fiction Begins

Even Josef Fares himself isn’t quite sure about the current status of the movie adaptation of *It Takes Two*, while Hollywood is already showing interest in the brand new *Split Fiction*. According to *Variety*, major film studios have begun to formulate their offers to acquire the adaptation rights.

Sources at the 2025 Game Developers Conference reported that the media company **Story Kitchen** is in the process of casting actors, hiring writers, and selecting directors for the film about the adventures of Mio and Zoe. This same company previously started working on the adaptation of *It Takes Two* for both big and small screens. Notably, **Dwayne Johnson** had been involved with the film, but it’s unclear if he remains among the creators.

Neither **Hazelight Studios** nor **Story Kitchen** has commented on the *Variety* report. It’s worth noting that Fares seems indifferent to the progress of the *It Takes Two* adaptation: *»Hollywood talks a lot but does very little. I’m not sure if the adaptation is dead. Honestly, I don’t really care anymore.»*

In the meantime, things are going well for *Split Fiction*: the game has sold over 2 million copies and has received praise from both critics and gamers alike.
