God of War Series Showrunner Reveals Amazons Commitment to Two Seasons

After the production of the series adaptation of *God of War* was restarted, God of War is now under the guidance of Ronald D. Moore, the executive producer of several seasons of “For All Mankind”. He recently appeared as a guest on The Sackhoff Show podcast and shared a few details about the adaptation.

According to Moore, Amazon has commissioned two seasons of *God of War*, but currently, the script for the first season is the only one being developed. The showrunner is actively involved in this writing process. It’s worth noting that the series is based on the 2018 reboot of the game. No further details have been released.

Moore admitted that he tried to play *God of War*, but struggled with the intricate controls. “I’m not a gamer. I grew up playing arcade games like Defender and Asteroids, so I’m used to pressing buttons and inserting quarters. But today’s controllers? Press R1. Where’s that? And then I’m dead,” he lamented. However, this setback does not deter him; his tone suggests he views working on the series as an exciting challenge.

Additionally, the adaptation involves PlayStation and the film company Vertigo. Creative director Sony Santa Monica Cory Barlog is serving as an executive producer for the show. The project was originally announced back in 2022.
