The cryptocurrency exchange Binance has released its report for the year 2025 — State of the Blockchain: 2025 Year In Review. According to the document, the total trading volume across all products reached $34 trillion, with registered users exceeding 300 million.

The trading volume in spot markets for the year amounted to $7.1 trillion. Since the inception of the exchange, the cumulative trading volume across all products has hit $145 trillion. The average daily trading volume grew by 18% year-on-year.

The Binance Alpha 2.0 platform handled over $1 trillion in trading volume in 2025. The product attracted 17 million users and distributed $782 million in rewards through 254 airdrops. The security system blocked 270,000 malicious participants attempting to exploit reward programs.

Binance expanded its listings to 490 spot assets (+14%) and 1,889 trading pairs (+18%). Futures are available for 584 coins (+56%).

Trading volume from institutional clients increased by 21% compared to the previous year, while the VIP segment saw an 18% rise. The volume of OTC fiat trading climbed by 210%.

The report notes that in 2025, capital management platforms and banks moved beyond pilot projects and began utilizing digital assets in their everyday operations.

“The most evident sign of this shift was the transition of tokenization from concept to a functioning collateral system. In 2025, Binance took a significant step towards institutional innovation by integrating the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL) as acceptable OTC collateral, followed by the addition of USYC and cUSDO — some of the first large-scale solutions of their kind in the crypto market,” Binance stated.

The exchange also announced a partnership with Franklin Templeton, which manages $1.6 trillion in assets.

According to the report, since 2023, the volume of illicit transactions has decreased by 96%. Protective measures have helped prevent fraud amounting to $6.69 billion and shielded 5.4 million users from potential losses.

Compliance teams processed over 71,000 requests from law enforcement agencies. With Binance’s assistance, authorities confiscated approximately $131 million linked to illegal activities. The exchange conducted over 160 training sessions for government representatives.

The report mentions 29 certifications, including ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System), ISO 27701 (Privacy Information Management System), ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management System), ISO 42001 (AI Management System), and PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). In December, Binance became the first global exchange with full authorization from ADGM — Abu Dhabi’s Financial Services Regulator.

“The ADGM license is the culmination of years of effort to comply with some of the world’s most stringent regulatory standards. Obtaining it almost simultaneously with surpassing the 300 million user mark demonstrates that scale and trust are not mutually exclusive,” noted Binance co-CEO Richard Teng.

An audit of Proof-of-Reserves confirmed user balances totaling $162.8 billion across 45 assets (+32% compared to the previous year).
