Удар по Unleash Protocol: хакер украл $3,9 млн через взлом мультисиг-кошелька Translation: Headline: Blow to Unleash Protocol: Hacker Steals $3.9 Million via Multisig Wallet Breach

The DeFi initiative Unleash Protocol suffered a loss of approximately $3.9 million due to a hacking incident, as reported by analysts from PeckShield.

The hacker managed to siphon off assets, converting them before transferring to Ethereum. Eventually, 1337.1 ETH was sent to the cryptocurrency mixer Tornado Cash.

The Unleash Protocol team has verified the breach. Among the stolen tokens are WIP, USDC, WETH, stIP, and vIP.

Preliminary reports indicate that the perpetrator gained access through the administrator’s multisig wallet, allowing for an unauthorized smart contract update and the withdrawal of user funds.

Developers have temporarily suspended all services associated with the Unleash Protocol. The team is collaborating with cybersecurity experts to investigate the details of the incident.

Project representatives emphasized that the underlying infrastructure of the Story Protocol, which supports the application, remained unaffected.

Unleash Protocol is a decentralized platform focused on managing intellectual property, providing tools for the registration, licensing, and trading of tokenized content rights.

As a reminder, on December 27, the FLOW token declined by 40% following the $3.9 million hacking attack.
