ИИ-токены терпят исторический крах: утрачено более $53 млрд за год Translation: AI Tokens Face Historic Crash: Over $53 Billion Lost in a Year

As of December 2024, the sector of AI tokens has experienced a decline of over $53 billion in value. This information was reported by the analytical platform CryptoPresales.

Assets that showcased three- and four-digit growth in previous years have returned to significant correction levels. The most notable drop occurred at the end of the year, with a total market capitalization decrease of $14 billion in November and December combined.

According to CoinMarketCap, the current market cap stands at $16.8 billion, which is four times lower than the figures from last year. CoinGecko reports a slightly higher figure of $25.4 billion.

AI token capitalization reached an all-time high of $69.9 billion in December 2024, fueled by interest in neural networks. However, by the first quarter of 2025, sentiments began to shift, resulting in a loss of 63% in value, or $44 billion by April.

In the latter half of the year, the market attempted to stabilize at the $30 billion level, but an overall correction in the fourth quarter nullified these efforts.

The downturn significantly impacted the leaders of the segment, with eight out of the top ten coins experiencing declines of over 70% compared to their December peaks.

The largest underperformer was the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI), which plummeted by 84%. Both Render (RNDR) and The Graph (GRT) fell by 82%.

Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL), which surged by 3500% in 2024, collapsed by 73% over the past 12 months. A similar downward trend was observed in Injective (INJ), Filecoin (FIL), Internet Computer (ICP), and NEAR Protocol (NEAR).
