Основатель Aave попадает под огонь критики: на $10 млн закуплены токены для манипуляции голосованием Translation: Headline: Aave Founder Under Fire: $10 Million Token Purchase for Vote Manipulation

Co-founder of the DeFi protocol Aave, Stani Kulechov, has faced backlash following his acquisition of project tokens worth $10 million. Community members speculated that the transaction aims to bolster his voting power in a contentious governance proposal.

DeFi strategist Robert Mullins asserted that Kulechov intends to endorse a proposal contrary to the interests of token holders. A user operating under the pseudonym Sisyphus also questioned the financial rationale behind the purchase.

He pointed out that between 2021 and 2025, the project’s founder instead sold coins worth millions of dollars.

The dispute emerged against the backdrop of a vote concerning the return of control over Aave’s brand, domains, and intellectual property to a DAO.

Former CTO of Aave Labs, Ernesto Boado, identified as the proposal’s author, expressed concerns about a breach of trust. He stated that the voting on the Snapshot platform was initiated prematurely and without his consent.

Analyst Samuel McCullough highlighted the issue of significant centralized governance within the protocol.

Three major addresses control over 58% of the votes. The leading wallet holds 27% (333,000 Aave), while an address associated with Aave Chan Initiative (aci.eth) commands 18.5%.

It’s worth noting that in December, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission concluded a four-year investigation into Aave.
