Co-founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Yi He, has been appointed as co-CEO. This announcement was made by company representatives during the Binance Blockchain Week conference in Dubai.

She will be sharing leadership of the platform with current CEO Richard Teng.

Teng described this appointment as a natural progression in the evolution of the management structure. He highlighted He’s pivotal role in shaping the company’s vision, culture, and business strategy since its inception.

The co-founder of the trading platform expressed plans to expand its global presence and develop Web3 infrastructure. She emphasized the importance of Teng’s experience in regulating traditional financial markets for the further growth of the industry.

The exchange’s leadership also reported that the client base is nearing 300 million users. The long-term goal of the platform is to attract 1 billion users.

He has been with Binance since its founding in 2017, previously serving as the Chief Customer Officer and overseeing business strategy and corporate culture.

Former exchange head Changpeng Zhao congratulated the new co-CEO, stating that He should have assumed this role «from day one.»

He added that these two strong leaders with complementary skills will ensure the company’s success.
