Aztec Network запускает Ignition Chain: Приватный L2-протокол на Ethereum для DeFi Translation: Aztec Network launches Ignition Chain: A privacy-focused L2 protocol on Ethereum for DeFi

The privacy-focused team behind the L2 project Aztec Network has announced the launch of the Ignition Chain on the Ethereum mainnet. The developers have dubbed it «the first fully decentralized second-layer solution.»

Block production commenced once the validator queue reached 500 participants. Prior to this mainnet deployment, a public testnet was launched in May.

Ignition Chain serves as the foundation for building a «private global computer,» enabling the creation of DeFi applications with end-to-end confidentiality. The technology employs zero-knowledge proofs to address blockchain transparency issues while maintaining data verification capabilities.

Last week, the registration for the token sale of the project’s native asset—AZTEC—was opened. This token is utilized for staking, governance, and block reward distribution. To activate as a validator, one must lock up 200,000 AZTEC tokens.

At the time of writing, the project has garnered approximately $2.7 million from over 1,960 participants in the campaign.

Public trading is set to commence on December 2.

It is worth noting that in 2023, Aztec developers announced the discontinuation of the second-layer Connect network aimed at scaling Ethereum.
