On November 18, the internet infrastructure provider Cloudflare experienced significant technical issues that disrupted the functioning of numerous websites and applications.

The incident resulted in a multitude of «500 errors» as well as malfunctions in the frontend, application programming interfaces (APIs), and management panels of Cloudflare.

«The company is aware of the issue affecting many customers and is investigating it,» says the project’s status page.

Among the major affected were the social network X, the OpenAI website, the music service Spotify, Amazon Web Services (AWS), the taxi service Uber, the video game League of Legends, and others.

The problems also impacted the cryptocurrency sector, including the exchange Coinbase, the L2 network Base, and the online broker Robinhood. The trading platform BitMEX announced it was launching an investigation related to the Cloudflare incident.

The cryptocurrency wallet Ledger faced issues with several of its services.

Analysts at the company are also monitoring disruptions in blockchains. According to their data, the issues affected coins such as EGLD, ADA, ICX, FIL, KAS, OSMO, STX, MINA, and ICP. Additionally, errors in the Toncoin network have been reported.

In light of the incident, shares of Cloudflare Inc (NET) dropped by 3.9%, falling to $194.

It is worth noting that in October, a major outage at AWS led to temporary shutdowns of dozens of online platforms, affecting Snapchat, Reddit, Hulu, gaming services, and cryptocurrency exchanges.
