Кредиторы Mt. Gox должны ждать выплат еще год: новые сроки установлены на октябрь 2026 года Translation: Headline: Mt. Gox creditors will have to wait another year for payouts: new deadlines set for October 2026

The bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox has postponed the deadline for creditor payouts from October 31, 2025, to October 31, 2026.

As stated in the announcement, the primary, interim, and early compensation processes are nearly completed for clients who have thoroughly submitted their claims. However, a significant number of affected individuals either failed to finalize the necessary steps or encountered issues during the process.

«To ensure that creditor payouts for rehabilitation are made as practically possible, the trustee, with court approval, has changed the repayment deadline from October 31, 2025, to October 31, 2026,» the document mentions.

This marks another delay in payments — initially, they were expected to conclude by October 31, 2023.

Mt. Gox was hacked in 2014, during which attackers stole 850,000 BTC.

The civil rehabilitation process submitted a proposal for fund reimbursement. This plan was later approved by a Tokyo court.

Users received the first payouts in yen at the end of 2023. The distribution of cryptocurrency began in July 2024 through exchanges Kraken and Bitstamp.

As of the time of writing, Mt. Gox holds 34,689 BTC valued at approximately $4 billion.

To remind, in May, Strive Asset Management announced its intention to acquire claims for 75,000 BTC from Mt. Gox.
