15 959 BTC снова в игре: хакеры повторно активировали счета майнинг-пула LuBian Headline: 15,959 BTC Back in Play: Hackers Reactivate LuBian Mining Pool Accounts

On October 22, malicious actors transferred 15,959 BTC, valued at $1.83 billion, from the wallets of the Chinese mining pool LuBian. Analysts from Onchain Lens noted this development.

The funds were distributed across four addresses through multiple transactions:

The first signs of activity on the wallets associated with LuBian were observed on October 15. After a three-year period of inactivity, 9,757 BTC ($1.1 billion) were transferred from a wallet. Later that same day, on-chain experts pointed out another transfer of 2,129 BTC ($238 million).

The mining pool underwent a hacking incident in 2020, but this information only came to light in 2025. During the breach, hackers made off with 127,426 BTC. At that time, the coins were valued at $3.5 billion, but they are now worth $14.5 billion. This theft remains the largest in the history of the cryptocurrency industry.

However, earlier, experts from Arkham Intelligence and Elliptic suggested that the attack might not have occurred. On October 14, U.S. authorities announced their intention to confiscate the stolen assets from LuBian as part of an investigation into the Prince Group, a criminal organization based in Cambodia.

The U.S. Department of Justice labeled the mining pool as a company used by the organization for money laundering. Consequently, analysts speculated that the hack could have been staged.

It is worth mentioning that ZachXBT uncovered a scheme that involved the theft of 1.2 million XRP, amounting to $3 million, from the wallet of an inexperienced user.
