Хакеры вновь нацелились на Binance: CZ сообщает о попытке взлома его Google-аккаунта Headline: Hackers Target Binance Again: CZ Reports Attempted Breach of His Google Account

The founder of Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), announced an attempt to hack his Google account. The entrepreneur speculated that the hackers might be connected to the Lazarus Group.

*“I occasionally receive such alerts from Google. Does anyone know what this is? North Korean Lazarus? Not that there’s anything important on my account,”* he remarked.

According to the alert, “government-related attackers” were attempting to steal CZ’s password.

Users shared a link to a Google security blog article regarding similar notifications. The alert “does not necessarily signify that the account was compromised or that a large-scale attack is underway.”

*“Rather, it reflects our assessment that the attacker likely attempted to gain access to the user’s account or computer via phishing or malware. More about these alerts can be read here,”* the text noted.

As reported by Elliptic, North Korean hackers have stolen a record $2 billion in digital assets since the beginning of 2025. The total known damage caused by the activities of North Korean hackers has exceeded $6 billion.

The majority of losses were incurred by the Bybit exchange, which lost $1.4 billion in February.

In mid-September, Zhao warned of the threat posed by “mole employees” from North Korea. He described the local hackers as «advanced, creative, and patient.»

The former head of Binance claimed to have encountered them numerous times personally. The attackers often pose as job candidates to secure positions within the company.

*“They particularly favor roles in development, security, and finance,”* added CZ.

Previously, researchers from Cisco Talos confirmed that North Korean hackers targeted job seekers in the crypto industry through fake interviews. In June, the Kraken exchange team identified a North Korean spy among applicants for a developer position.

Meanwhile, on-chain detective ZachXBT believes that the issue isn’t the “genius” of North Korean cybercriminals. In his view, the problem lies in ordinary negligence. Most attacks can be prevented with minimal checks, he noted.

Users are particularly interested in Zhao’s tweets about meme coins. On October 8, the entrepreneur announced the start of the «funny coin» season on the BNB Chain, which many traders interpreted as a call to action. The excitement was short-lived.

The next day, CZ stated that his messages should not be considered trading signals.

*“I tried to avoid memes in my tweets, but it’s impossible—there are too many, and it made my posts feel unnatural. Now I write as usual: any coincidences with memes are coincidental and not recommendations,”* he wrote.

Shortly after, the prices of many meme coins on the BNB Chain sharply declined. The price of the leading token—identified by the ticker 4—dropped by more than 24% in the last 24 hours, according to DEX Screener.

The price of the ecosystem’s native cryptocurrency, BNB, corrected to $1200 after hitting an all-time high of over $1300.

Recall that against the backdrop of rising prices for Binance-related tokens, CZ’s wealth exceeded $89 billion. Zhao climbed 21 spots in the Forbes billionaire rankings.
