Обновление Rio: Polygon достигает новых высот с 5000 TPS для платежных систем Translation: Headline: Rio Update: Polygon Reaches New Heights with 5000 TPS for Payment Systems

The Polygon Labs team has activated the Rio upgrade on the mainnet of Polygon. This upgrade is aimed at enhancing the speed, reliability, and scalability of the blockchain, particularly for payment solutions.

The update has increased the network’s throughput to 5,000 transactions per second and ensures near-instant completion of operations. A significant improvement is the elimination of the risk of blockchain reorganizations, which enhances reliability for payment systems.

At the core of Rio are two foundational technologies:

The upgrade also modified the economic model. Transaction fees are now redistributed between the block producer and other validators. This allows lightweight node operators to earn rewards without needing expensive hardware.

Rio is part of Polygon’s long-term scaling strategy, referred to as Gigagas, which aims to reach throughput in the tens of thousands of transactions per second.

It’s worth noting that in July, the POL token rose by over 8% in anticipation of the Heimdall v2 upgrade.
