CME запускает 24/7 торговлю криптовалютными опционами и фьючерсами Translation: CME launches 24/7 trading of cryptocurrency options and futures.

At the beginning of 2026, the CME Group will launch 24/7 trading of options and futures based on cryptocurrency assets.

«While not all markets are suited for continuous trading, the demand from customers for around-the-clock cryptocurrency trading has increased, as market participants need to manage their risks every day of the week,» stated CME Group CEO Tim McCourt.

He believes that ensuring continuous operation of digital asset markets will enable clients to «trade with confidence at any time.»

The CME Globex platform will facilitate the round-the-clock trading, with a scheduled technical break of no more than two hours on weekends.

According to a press release, interest in cryptocurrency products on the exchange has significantly risen over the past year.

The announcement of «non-stop» operations came after comments from CME Chairman and CEO Terry Duffy during a joint roundtable with the CFTC and SEC on October 1, where he remarked that a «24/7 era» is emerging in finance.

«I believe we are heading into that kind of world, and the market will demand it,» Duffy said in a discussion with regulatory representatives.

He added that cryptocurrency is the «best way to achieve this.»

Similar views were expressed by other exchange leaders participating in the roundtable. Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeff Sprecher noted that markets must determine which products are sensible for continuous trading.

Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman mentioned that the company is preparing to implement round-the-clock services but acknowledged operational challenges.

It is worth noting that in September, the SEC simplified the listing process for crypto ETFs. Analysts have predicted the launch of new investment products in the U.S. «in the coming weeks and months.»
