Умные очки Meta Ray-Ban с инновационным дисплеем: новый шаг к будущему технологий Translation: Headline: Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses with Innovative Display: A New Step Towards the Future of Technology

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Meta Ray-Ban Display, the first «smart glasses» featuring an integrated display. Users can control them through hand gestures via a bracelet utilizing neurotechnology.

This new device serves as a bridge between Ray-Ban Meta and the experimental augmented reality glasses known as Orion, which can overlay 3D visuals onto a person’s field of vision using a wireless computing module.

The Meta Neural Band bracelet operates on electromyography technology and is included with the Meta Ray-Ban Display.

“These glasses embody the classic style you expect from Ray-Ban, but they are also the first such device with a high-resolution display and a fully functional Meta Neural Band,” stated Zuckerberg.

With this innovative gadget, users can watch videos on the screen or view and respond to text messages. The display does not obstruct the view and fades away when not in use.

During the demonstration, the Meta CEO attempted to call Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth several times unsuccessfully.

“Well, you know… these things happen,” he commented.

The glasses will be available for purchase in the U.S. starting September 30.

Additionally, Zuckerberg introduced Oakley Meta Vanguard—smart glasses designed for athletes engaged in extreme sports like snowboarding or mountain biking. These glasses have a more dynamic appearance compared to the «traditional» version and feature a button for capturing photos and videos. The price is $499.

The device operates for up to nine hours on a single charge, records video in 3K, and has loudspeakers. It can connect to Garmin fitness watches to monitor heart rates using Meta AI. Pre-orders are now open.

Another new gadget is the second-generation version of the original Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Their price will be $379, compared to $299 for the 2023 model. They now last twice as long on a single charge—up to eight hours—and come with an improved camera capable of recording in 3K Ultra HD.

Zuckerberg also announced Horizon TV, a service for streaming TV shows, sports events, and movies through Quest VR headsets. Among the partners providing content for the app are Disney and Universal Pictures.

It’s worth noting that in July 2024, Zuckerberg stated that in the future, everyone will wear devices powered by artificial intelligence.
