This figure marked a 15% increase compared to July, when the losses amounted to $142 million.

One of the targets of the hackers was the Turkish cryptocurrency exchange BtcTurk, which saw a loss of assets totaling $54 million. This incident is the second major hack of the exchange in the past year. In June 2024, attackers withdrew over $50 million from BtcTurk.

The largest single incident of the month involved a private Bitcoin investor, who lost 783 BTC (around $91 million) due to a social engineering attack.
