Binance внедряет инновационный подход к 2FA с персонализированными настройками Translation: Binance introduces an innovative approach to 2FA with personalized settings

The cryptocurrency exchange Binance has introduced a feature for personalized two-factor authentication (2FA) and provided recommendations for using passkeys to secure accounts. This information was shared in a blog post by the exchange.

The new system allows users to decide when additional verification is needed—during account login, fund withdrawals, trading, or other activities.

To enable this feature, users should navigate to the «Account» → «Security» → «Two-Factor Authentication Method» section. They can configure confirmation requirements for different scenarios:

For each action, users can establish their own level of protection based on usage frequency and associated risks.

«This means you can create a security system that suits your individual needs. For instance, you can opt for a passkey for quick logins while requiring multiple verification methods for fund withdrawals,» the Binance blog states.

Binance recommends using passkeys as the primary 2FA method.

This authentication approach relies on public key cryptography: the private key remains securely stored on the user’s device, making it resistant to phishing and SIM swapping attacks. Such threats can compromise traditional 2FA methods like SMS or email.

Additionally, passkeys can synchronize across devices, allowing for quick biometric logins without passwords or one-time codes. Therefore, their implementation in 2FA settings offers both enhanced security and convenient access.

It is worth noting that in August, Binance and other exchanges launched a network aimed at combating cryptocurrency crimes in real-time.
