Солана достигла 6%-ого роста на фоне исторического голосования за обновление Alpenglow Translation: Solana Hits 6% Surge Amid Historic Voting for Alpenglow Upgrade

The price of Solana (SOL) surged to $214.57, marking a 5.9% increase in just one day. This rise is occurring concurrently with the commencement of voting for what is deemed «the most significant upgrade in the network’s history.»

The asset has displayed the best weekly performance among the top ten cryptocurrencies.

Voting has begun within the community on the proposal SIMD-0326, known as Alpenglow. Its primary aim is to reduce block confirmation time to 150 milliseconds, which would significantly accelerate transaction finalization and enhance the operation of decentralized applications.

This proposal will replace the existing Proof-of-History and TowerBFT consensus mechanisms with a new architecture called Votor. This architecture employs an off-chain voting system, thereby alleviating network congestion. The upgrade will also implement a simplified block distribution system called Rotor in place of the multi-layered Turbine approach.

Voting will last for three epochs — from 840 to 842. In order to make a decision, the support of two-thirds of the validators is required, with a quorum set at 33%.

As of this writing, 100 validators, representing 10.6% of the total votes, have already made their decisions.

It is worth noting that on August 17, Solana became the first network to achieve a speed of 107,540 transactions per second during a stress test.
