OnePlus Acknowledges Meda in China Typo on Watch 3, Offers Limited Edition Option or Return

Last week, OnePlus unveiled its latest flagship product, the Watch 3. The device quickly garnered attention due to a typographical error on the back of the case, where it was mistakenly engraved as «Meda In China.» A section of users on social media speculated whether this was a marketing gimmick, while others pointed out that it seemed to be a lapse from the quality control team. After a few days, OnePlus acknowledged the blunder and offered users the option to return the watch or keep it as a limited edition collectible.

“Oops, we made a mistake! A typo got onto your brand new OnePlus Watch 3. We assure you it was unintentional. However, if you already have the watch, you can keep it as a super-limited edition (after all, it’s one of a kind!) or return it hassle-free!” the company posted on X.

Due to the error, OnePlus has postponed the sales launch of the Watch 3 from February 25, 2025, to April 2025. Pre-orders are available with an introductory discount of $30 for early buyers, along with an additional $50 off for those who trade in their old watches.

The Watch 3 features a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 2200 nits, protected by sapphire glass. The stainless steel case is accented with a titanium bezel. The dimensions of the OnePlus Watch 3 are 46.6×47.6×11.75 mm, and it weighs 49.7 g without the strap. It is available in two color options: Obsidian Titanium and Emerald Titanium.
