Nintendo of America to Raise Switch Console Prices Starting August 3 Due to Market Conditions

Nintendo of America, the American branch of the company, has **announced** a price increase for the original Switch consoles effective August 3. This increase is attributed to «current market conditions,» according to the company, and the decision came shortly after Donald Trump imposed new additional tariffs on several countries.

The company has not yet disclosed what the new prices will be for the devices. Nintendo of America mentioned that the price hike will affect the OLED models, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and several Nintendo Switch accessories. Additionally, these changes will extend to other company products, including certain accessories for the Switch 2, amiibo figurines, and the Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo.

Prices for the Nintendo Switch 2, games for both Switch and Switch 2, as well as the Switch Online subscription in the U.S. will remain unchanged for now, as assured by the company. However, Nintendo of America has cautioned that price adjustments may occur in the future.

Currently, the original Switch is available in the U.S. for $300, the Switch Lite is priced at $200, and the Switch OLED costs $350.
